The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations, Mr. Morten Jespersen said that implementation was the most important with regard to the promises of reforms made by Saudi Arabia.
In a speech on 24 September 2021 under the fourth item of the 48th Session of the Human Rights Council, which started on 13 September and will continue until 8 October 2021, Denmark expressed its concern over the continuing pursuit by Saudi Arabia of civil society activists.
Denmark stressed that the use of torture in prisons and the death penalty by Saudi Arabia are matters of serious concern.
