Sweden said Saudi Arabia used anti-terror laws to carry out mass executions.
In a speech by Ambassador Ms. Anna Jardfelt, Sweden criticized the use of these laws as a pretext to keep pressure on civil society. It also referred to the arbitrary arrests practiced by countries.
Saudi Arabia has executed 81 individuals for terrorism charges, even though some of the individuals engaged in activities such as participating in protests; many were subjected to torture, and not everyone whose cases were documented received a fair trial.
