In a speech delivered by its Ambassador to the Human Rights Council, Mr. Morten Jespersen, on March 22, 2022, under clause number 4 of the 49th session, Denmark reiterated its strong opposition to the death penalty<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jespersen also indicated that his country is concerned about the persecution of civil society activists in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia had carried out mass executions on March 12, 2022.
